A Hour of Service:
A Retirement Tribute TO Ann Lott
Ann Lott....Daughter, Wife, Mother, Educator, Advocate.
Join us in celebrating Ann Lott's service to Dawson County Schools as she retires in May 2017!! Ann has served Dawson County since 1988. She began her career as an English teacher at Dawson County High School. She worked as media specialist at Robinson Elementary until the opening of Black's Mill Elementary in 1998. Ann also established the media center when Riverview Elementary opened in 2010. One of her greatest contributions is the launch of live, student-led, news broadcasts in several Dawson County elementary schools. Throughout her nearly 30 years of service, Ann has dedicated herself to encouraging students' love of reading and taught them to think about the world beyond the walls of school.
Ann Lott has a heart of service, especially when it comes to reading to others and taking care of our earth. Any time you can spend in service to others will warm her heart. As a retirement tribute, let's honor her by spending one hour volunteering and serving others.
A few ideas for the hour of service...
-read to a child or elderly adult
-read to a child's class
-pick up trash
-planting trees or a garden
-volunteer at a local park clean-up
-clean a stream or the lakeshore
-organize items at a food bank or thrift store
-assist at a women's shelter
-grocery shop for a sick friend or single mom
-assist with an event at a local church
-spend time teaching Girl Scouts, especially outdoor skills
May this spark a spirit of service within you and your family that continues for generations to come.
